Cooper-Atkins PM180-03 Digital Mini Rectangular Panel Thermometer Kit with 2113 Solid Simulator Probes Review

Cooper-Atkins PM180-03 Digital Mini Rectangular Panel Thermometer Kit with 2113 Solid Simulator Probes

The Cooper-Atkins PM180-03 digital dual panel thermometer with two solid simulator probes is used for measuring temperature in food storage environments such as freezers, refrigerators, and hot-holding cabinets. It measures temperature from -25 to +180 degrees F (-32 to +82 degrees C), with an accuracy of + or – 2 degrees F (+ or – 1 degree C). Two solid simulator probes with 10-foot cords connect to the thermometer to simulate the temperature of the food product in two separate storage environments or two zones in the same environment. Adjustable minimum and maximum temperature settings sound a 70 decibel audible alarm with flashing display if low or high limits are exceeded to help keep food products safe. The Minimum/Maximum temperature memory function stores high and low readings. The unit operates on a single AAA battery, and it automatically updates temperature readings every 5 seconds. The European Conformity (CE) marking indicates compliance with applicable European Union (EU) directives, and it is compliant with Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) standards. It comes with two solid simulator probes, a battery, mounting bracket, screws, adhesive tape, and instructions.

Digital thermometers are instruments used to measure the temperature of air, liquids, or surfaces electronically. They may measure temperature in Celsius, Fahrenheit, or both. Most digital thermometers use thermistors, which are small electronic resistors made out of metals that conduct electricity within a certain range and become more conductive the warmer they get. A microcontroller inside the thermometer measures this electrical conductivity and converts it to a temperature, which is displayed on an LCD. Digital thermometers are used in a wide range of applications, including in laboratory settings, food service and storage, and in doctors’ offices and hospitals.

Cooper-Atkins manufactures time, temperature, and humidity instruments for industrial, HVAC/R, health care, and food safety applications. The company, founded in 1884, is headquartered in Middlefield, CT.
